Overview of Role:
- Hardware: Maintains and troubleshoots common PC & Hardware problems

QA/Support Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview of Role:
- Find, trace, and thoroughly identify defects; generate reproducible defect reports; work with development teams to resolve defects and verify corrective actions.
- Develop an understanding of the functional, usability, and performance requirements for the product features being tested
- Design and implement manual and automated tests
- Install, configure, and test beta versions of the company’s products in customer environments
- Research and implement new and improved testing methods, processes, tools and test systems to improve the quality of our software
- Write release notes and functional specifications documents
- Provide on-site support for our clients; investigate, report and solve issues in a production environment
- Handle and support a dynamic schedule, multiple environments, test cycles and deployments.
Skills:
Required qualifications:
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelors in Computer Science or other technical discipline
- Experience in development using Java technologies
- Experience with relational databases (preferably MySQL). Ability to understand DB schemas and write basic queries as a minimum
- Linux-based computer system knowledge; manipulate files, create/update folders, access directories
- Strong analytical skills enabling comprehension of complex business and product issues
- Understanding of full software development life cycle
- Accurate task estimation skills
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Team player and process oriented
- Ability to meet deadlines, goals and objectives within time line
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in shell scripting
Experience with network devices, network protocols (TCP/IP and UDP), routing, Internet security and server configurations
Knowledge of Quality Assurance methodologies
Experience in creation, maintenance and execution of manual test cases
Experience in creation and maintenance of automated test scripts
Experience in handling customer support calls and reporting software issues
Experience in writing test plans, and test cases
